Beguiled

Categories: Beguiled I learned the true meaning of this word in the original Hebrew and Greek text used only twice in the King James Bible. Many are questioning the source and translation of this wonderful version of the Hebrew and Greek text into English and the critics have their field days claiming their own preferred version is better and “accurate”. If it was so accurate, as claimed, why do they have further revisions of the revisions? And the game they played goes on and on. Billy Graham settled the issue with himself. In his biography he wrote why he kept to using the King James Bible because it works. It has been used extensively and almost exclusively by many evangelists and preachers through the centuries and it has produced results after results. God honour His Word in whatever languages they were translated in. John Wesley and Brother Branham used it and the rejoicing souls in heaven would testify to that. "Rejoicing souls in heaven? " You'll asked? Yes, as much as the heavenly hosts sang the first Noel, so we heard first hand from prophets from regions of the blessed. (Hear the sermon "The Rejected King" from the VOGR website (branham.org/multimedia). When a preacher started to quote from his own preferred version other than the King James, it is the beginning of a doubt implanted into themselves about the Word of God being true. I have seen message preachers who quoted from the so called Amplified Bible. By and by, they amplified their own doubts. Eventually they reasoned themselves away from the truth. What a statement to make. Reasoned away from the Truth! That was the toxin the Serpent gave to Eve in the garden of Eden when he “coated” not quoted God’s Word to Adam and Eve. Of every tree you shall freely eat but of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, thou shalt not eat for the DAY you eat thereof, you shall surely die. The devil inspired Serpent, the most subtil of all the beast of the field, who could articulate and use his mental knowledge changed the warning by adding only one tiny word. Ye shall NOT surely die!. I come to the simple conclusion you either believe the Word or you don’t. If you don’t, there is no more necessity to talk about it unless you are trying to convince yourself by getting more people to see it your way so that you can feel jusitfied. I called that the law of equal misery (I use “you” but please don’t take it personal if you are not this “you”). This seems to be the case with the modern day unbelievers of this wonderful message God has given us. They try to discredit it because they themselves are not sure about their convictions. Why they think that you will be damned if you believe this message so they are on a crusade to try to talk you out of it? That is what wolves do when they hang around sheep when the Shepherd is not looking. Their intention was clear. They want to devour the lone sheep. (here my word "devour" means eat until there is nothing else to eat-there is a physical act in doing so. That is the true meaning of the Word “Beguiled”, like our word "devour" in original text both in the Hebrew of the Old Testament and the Greek of the New Testament. Strong put it in its proper perspective and Bullinger in his appendix to the companion bible, describe the serpent as the "shiny one" fascinating and commanding presence. Gen 3:13 And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat. Strong gives us this:- ðùÑà (pardon the Hebrew text display. Will try to fix this if possible). na^sha^' naw-shaw' A primitive root; to lead astray, that is, (mentally) to delude, or (morally) to seduce: - beguile, deceive, X greatly, X utterly. Did you see it? It is a primitive root which means to lead astray, MENTALLY, to delude (MORALLY) to seduce. Deceived greatly and UTTERLY. Brother Branham said it means To Defile! It carries the meaning of a young innocent girl who is inquisitive and the male adult, destroy her by taking her virginity. That is the meaning of Defile. Yes Beguile! Let us look at the Greek word from Paul’s letter to the Corinthians. 2Co 11:3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. å̓ξαπατάω exapatao¯ ex-ap-at-ah'-o From G1537 and G538; to seduce wholly: - beguile, deceive. See the same interpretation! To SEDUCE wholly. Totally and utterly seduced! Physically, mentally and morally and that my friends, is the true meaning of the word translated “Beguiled”. You may want to know that these two words, the Hebrew and the Greek pertaining to the beguiling of Eve by the Serpent are the true translation for SEDUCE wholly. Let us take a look at other words translated as “Beguiled” and you will see those original words in Hebrew and Greek refers to the word “to deceive” as in the word deception. To deceive do not carry the connotation of “Defile”. Here are the Hebrew and Greek word translated as such. And it came to pass, that in the morning, behold, it was Leah: and he said to Laban, What is this thou hast done unto me? did not I serve with thee for Rachel? wherefore then hast thou beguiled me? øîä ra^ma^h raw-maw' A primitive root; to hurl; specifically to shoot; figuratively to delude or betray (as if causing to fall): - beguile, betray, [bow-] man, carry, deceive, throw. For they vex you with their wiles, wherewith they have beguiled you in the matter of Peor, and in the matter of Cozbi, the daughter of a prince of Midian, their sister, which was slain in the day of the plague for Peor's sake. ðëì na^kal naw-kal' A primitive root; to defraud, that is, act treacherously: - beguile, conspire, deceiver, deal subtilly. And Joshua called for them, and he spake unto them, saying, Wherefore have ye beguiled us, saying, We are very far from you; when ye dwell among us? øîä ra^ma^h raw-maw' A primitive root; to hurl; specifically to shoot; figuratively to delude or betray (as if causing to fall): - beguile, betray, [bow-] man, carry, deceive, throw. And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words. Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, ðáñáëïãé́ζομαι paralogizomai par-al-og-id'-zom-ahee From G3844 and G3049; to misreckon, that is, delude: - beguile, deceive. Apparently, these other translation of the orignal text into beguiled refers more to the English equivalent of "Defraud" or "Betrayed". It is interesting to note that the Greek has the word “logic” embedded in its meaning. I would say, it is twisted logic. Twisted Logic? This then is the word we need to apply for those who are trying to scour information from the life and sermons of Brother Brnaham to discredit his ministry as if he was the deceptor? Isn’t the proof of the pudding in the eating thereof? Do we love the Lord Jesus more today than ever before because of His goodness to us by the revealing of God’s Word. He said I am that Bread of Life. You shall not worship other gods beside me, which truly are not gods but what Paul call the beggarly elements (Gal 4:9). Yet these beggarly elements so adamantly convinced themselves that we are placing Brother Branham above the Lord Jesus Christ. Twisted Logic they apply and that is how I see them to be. It can only come from a twisted mind itself because they are slaves to their own sins and want to drag others into their slime pit. Instead of humbing themselves to bow before God and talk to Him, they vomit what they cannot digest themselves and caused others to eat of their vomit. It is interesting to note also that these scoffers used the word "research" freely giving the impression that they have done extensive research before they vomit them out again. What is Vomit? Vomit is simply undigested food. Food that they can’t stomach. It is not for them. I think they should simply go on with their living in unbelief but no, they are on a campaign to talk people out of the message. I always said, if people can talk you into the message, there will be someone else who can talk you out of it. What is the message? The message is the unfolding of the bible from Genesis to Reveation. There is no Rev chapter 23 because no man can add or take away what God had said. That was why, the prophet warned, do the same with the tapes, the sermons. Do not add or subtract and say what the tape says, exactly. These are spiritual food stored for this hour of unbelief. Even a punctuation mark misplaced would change the intended meaning. That was the Mystery of God revealed by the seventh angel messenger, because the bible says, the Mystery of God should (final) be finished. If you are prone to listen to the scoffers twisted logic, you are expressing your own doubts. I mentioned the story of the false knitted ball. It is the Chinese story whether it is true or not, I cannot tell, but the essence of the story is quite similar to those who listened to twisted logic. In the old days, when any rich man’s daughter were not interested in any of their suitors, they threw caution to the wind and trust in fate. So the father of the prospective Bride would arrange for a particular day where all those who would be intrested to marry his daughter would gather below the high pavilion. The pupose of which was to try to catch a woven silk ball, XiuQiu, the embroidered ball, the Token of the bethrothal promise. Once thrown off the pavilion, whoever got hold of this Token would be the selected prospective bridgroom of the pretty and rich mistress. Pao Xiuqiu(Xiuqiu Tossing) In Chinese, “pao”means “to toss”. In ancient times, Xiuqiu was used to symbolize love. As such, if a girl handmade an embroidery ball and gave it to a boy - it meant that she had given her heart to him, such sweet gesture. If a girl was in seek of a fated life partner, she would toss the ball high where a bunch of boys were. The boy who caught the Xiuqiu would become the husband to-be. Nowadays, Xiuqiu tossing is a traditional game in festivals marking the blooming season or harvest time. There are various ways of playing this game. One way is for two teams, usually boys versus girls, to toss the silk balls at each other hoping that the opposing team would drop the ball. If the ball drops, the losing side will be required to sing or perform in other ways as a forfeit. There was a handsome scholar going to the capital to take the imperial exams accompanied by his crafty assistant. He was stricken by the beauty of the mistress and joined in the crowd to try to snare the ball. On that day, there was a high wind. When the ball was tossed, the wind blew it far into the distance and was lost in sight almost reaching the periphery of the next vilage, a day’s journey on foot. A thief happened to pick it up and realising what it was. Did not relinguish the idea of marrying into money so he happily tucked the ball away and boasted that “he is going to be a rich man afterall”. Undeterred the handsome scholar gave chase and discovered the drama of the thief claiming that ball and was truly disheartened. All hope was lost he thought. Tired they had to spend the night at the closest inn where they chanced upon the thief boasting about his find. The crafty servant promised his master that he would retrieve the ball from the thief thus, his master could marry his beloved. He reproduced another similar ball as exquisite as the picture you see on the right and announced far and wide through the evening and night that what the thief got was a false one, that he and his master got the true ball and certainly his master would be marrying the lady and not the theif who picked his dirty ball off the road whereas his master could certify that they caught the real beautifully made one. Knowing that he had lost a wonderful opportunity to be rich, the thief sneered and hitched a plan to steal the ball from the scholar’s room. In the middle of the night, he crept into their bedroom and thought that he was undetected. Quietly, he swtiched the balls and darted away so pleased with himself that he finally got the real one. The next morning, both parties went to claim their prize. To the consternation of the thief, his was rejected though it looked more expensive and finer that the one the scholar got. All that glitters is not gold. Once a thief always a thief who listened to the twisted logic of the crafty servant. We message believers were once that thief. We were given the opportunity to a graet inheritance but the devil is telling us, not true, what we got is not real? Are you still a thief at heart after you come to the knowledge of the Truth? If you are, you will listen to their twisted logic not realising you have got the real! Shalom, my friend, Shalom. |
